What India is actually asking for

Not a bestseller list. Nobody publishes footwear sales figures for India, so anyone showing you one is guessing. This is our own demand data — what people searched for here in the last 30 days — and every row shows how many people are behind it, not how many clicks.

How to read this. Counts are distinct people over the last 30 days, so one person searching the same thing ten times counts once. A row appears only once 5 different people are behind it — below that it is noise, and publishing it would let a handful of visitors look like a national trend. None of this is sales data, and it is demand on this site rather than demand in India as a whole.

What the brands themselves call their best sellers

Read straight off each brand's own store. These are their claims about their own products, not ours about the market — nobody publishes footwear sales figures for India, so anyone showing you a national bestseller chart is guessing.

Prices are what the brand listed when we read the page and will have moved since — the link goes to their store, which is the only place a current price exists. We show no product photographs here because those are the brand's to publish, not ours.

How well do you know shoe sizes?

Eight questions. Every answer is arithmetic or a published convention, with its source shown — and most people get half of them wrong, which is a large part of why shoes don't fit.

One full UK shoe size is how many millimetres?

Things worth knowing

One shoe size is 8.5 mm

A third of an inch — a barleycorn. Half a size is 4.2 mm. So a measurement that is 'close enough' often isn't, and any tool that won't tell you its error margin is hiding something.

25.4 ÷ 3 mm

Sizes are a brand's opinion, not a standard

There is no enforced international shoe size. Each brand builds its own last, so the same UK 8 differs between two boxes on the same shelf. This is why we show what real buyers report about a brand's fit rather than trusting its chart.

Absence of a binding size standard; observed across brand charts

Foot length in centimetres is the only honest number

UK, EU and US numbers all describe the shoe. The centimetre length describes your foot. Measure that once and every chart becomes readable.

Wide feet are not a size problem

Going up a size to gain width makes a shoe too long, so it slides and blisters. Width grades exist for this — New Balance publishes 2E and 4E, and a handful of others do too.
